ফেসবুকের নতুন মুদ্রা ‘ লিব্রা ’ ( Facebook Libra )
আমাজন (amazon ) গুগল (google) বা হোয়াটসআপ (whatsapp )এর আগেই পা রেখেছিল অনলাইন লেনদেনের বাজারে। এবার ফেসবুকের মতো সামাজিক মাধ্যমও আর্থিক ক্ষেত্রে কাজ শুরু করতে যাচ্ছে ।
ইতিমধ্যে বেশ কয়েকটি প্রতিষ্ঠানের সাথে যুক্ত হয়ে নতুন ডিজিটাল কারেন্সি( Digital currency) বাজারে আনার কথা ঘোষণা করেছে প্রতিষ্ঠানটি । সম্প্রতি মেটা (meta) র প্রধান মার্ক জাকারবার্গ (Mark Zuckerberg) নিজের ফেসবুক পেজে এ সংক্রান্ত তথ্য তুলে ধরেছেন। ডিজিটাল কারেন্সি বিটকয়েন (Bitcoin) এর মতো ফেসবুকের এই কারেন্সির নাম হচ্ছে ‘ লিব্রা ‘ ( Libra )।
সর্বশেষ তথ্য অনুযায়ী আগামী ৬ থেকে ১২ মাসের মধ্যে অনলাইনে এই মুদ্রা চালু করবে ফেসবুক । মূলত ই – কমার্স ও বিজ্ঞাপন ভিত্তিক বাজারকে মাথায় রেখে ডিজিটাল মুদ্রা ‘ লিব্রা ‘ চালু করার উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে বলে মনে করছেন ডিজিটাল প্রযুক্তি বিশেষজ্ঞরা।
ডিজিটাল কারেন্সি নিয়ে গবেষণা করেন এমন একাধিক গবেষক জানিয়েছেন , ফেসবুকের নতুন এ কারেন্সি যতটা না ক্রিপ্টোকারেন্সি (Crypto currency ) তার চেয়ে বেশি ফিয়াট কারেন্সির (Fiat currency) মতো । পিয়েট কারেন্সি হলো এক ধরনের ভ্যালু অ্যাডেড সার্ভিস যার সাহায্যে প্রথাগত কারেন্সি কেনাবেচা বা রুপান্তর করা যায়।
ফেসবুকের নতুন কারেন্সি লিব্রা প্রথাগত মুদ্রা দিয়ে একটা নির্দিষ্ট বিনিময় হারে কেনা যাবে । যা পরবর্তীতে অন্যান্য সার্ভিসের জন্য বা অন্য কাউকে পাঠিয়েও দেয়া যাবে । এ ক্ষেত্রে মাধ্যম হবে ফেসবুক ।
